JAY is a nigh-inexhaustible fount of creative spirit.

Based in Southern California (Los Angeles and Orange County), he fronts a six-piece pop band called The MOODS and has a love for Fender Telecasters (and an enthusiastic interest in guitars in general).  Jay is a freelance graphic/web designer and a composer who works within the rock, alternative, and pop genres.  He has written four full-length albums, and is the recipient of the Rock City News Outstanding Songwriter of 2007 award.

Boasting an extensive theatre background, he is no stranger to the stage, having worked with numerous theatre companies nationwide (some of which include Shakespeare & Company, the Civic Light Opera of South Bay Cities, Theater League, Sacred Fools, East West Players, and his very own S.O.B. Theatre Company).  He has filled various roles as actor, scenic designer, properties artisan, sound designer, stage manager, producer, marketing manager, and, most recently, composer.

As a musician, he has worked in a variety of outlets.  With The MOODS, he has played a variety of illustrious Los Angeles venues: the Viper Room, the Key Club, the House of Blues, and many others.  He has played guitar with the Jennifer Project and the One-and-Dones (a 90's one-hit-wonder cover band).  In 2011, he had the privilege of playing a set with his personal hero, Stevie Jackson of Belle & Sebastian.

Jay lives with his wife, Erin, and his two sons, Sebastian Fox and Percival Sky.

"On their debut album, Have Your Day, The MOODS mix artful, 1960's style arrangements with memorable melodies...  When they play together a bit of musical alchemy seems to occur. Make sure that Have Your Day gets on your listening list."
- Wildy's World
“Trebly guitars, lush piano lines, and rich vocal harmonies lay the foundation for The MOODS' head-bopping, toe tapping tunes. These catchy pop vocals laced with powerful guitar licks and rolling rhythms evoke the New Pornographers and Belle & Sebastian.”
- l’étoile magazine
